Assist HAB to identify and profile agencies funded by the Ryan White CARE Act. Activities include: (1) maintain mechanisms to ensure ongoing identification and profiling of direct service agencies receiving CARE Act funds; (2) maintain timely information regarding agencies funded y the CARE Act to enable HAB to address a variety of policy, programmatic, and evaluation questions; (3) enhance HAB’s ability to identify geographic gaps in HIV service capacity and assess the link between rates of HIV disease and distribution of services in US healthcare markets; (4) assess the impact of initiatives focused on expanding minority provider participation in CARE Act programs and gain a better understanding of the organizational structure, capacity, and characteristics of minority providers receiving CARE Act funds; and (5) assess the TA needs of HIV service agencies supported by the CARE Act and factors associated with those needs, including the unique TA needs of minority providers. POI addressed these objectives through: (1) maintenance of the CARE Act Agency Database to ensure timely data; (2) develop an Access database containing organization data for all agencies receiving CARE Act funds; (3) update CAAD files to reflect newly funded grantees and subgrantees; (4) create new Access tables; (5) use of Castelle PC-based fax software to transmit informational queries to subgrantees; (6) conduct data entry and cleaning using Access; (7) produce tabular results using Excel and SPSS, (8) produce graphs using MS Graph Charts, and (9) prepare a report to the sponsor.

POI addressed these objectives through: (1) the addition of key data elements to the CARE Act Agency Database (CAAD); (2) support of a CAAD maintenance and update cycle; (3) development of database documentation, dissemination, and security policies; (3) refinement and maintenance of a multi-module Access database; (4) development of data cleaning policies and procedures, (5) design and fielding of a survey; (6) data entry and cleaning; (7) transfer of Access databases to SPSS for statistical analysis; (8) prepare tabular results using Excel and SPSS; (9) prepare graphic results using MS Graph Charts and PowerPoint, and (10) prepare a report to the client.
